On January 28, 2026, DID membership approved a resolution condemning the the invasion of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in our cities and the resultant death of at least 40 Americans since January 2025, the targeting of people solely based on their appearance, particularly black and brown residents and the arrest and detention of thousands of people around the country without due process.
DID demands the immediate withdrawal of all ICE agents from Minneapolis and every other city in which they're currently operating. We also demand that Democrats in the Senate and House vote no on any government spending bill that includes funding for ICE. Further, we call for the abolition of the ICE paramilitary operation.
