These items will be greatly appreciated: socks, toiletries, blankets, kitchen & bathware, e.g. mugs, pots, utensils. towels, sheets, etc. (new or gently used), and gift cards.
We will be collecting items for the kids of Sheltering Arms Children and Family Services. This collection will be for young people who are homeless. Now, through Sheltering Arms, they are getting into apartments. Many of them come from abusive families, but are below the radar of children’s services.
They come to Sheltering Arms drop in center or emergency shelter, and eventually Sheltering Arms can get them into apartments with a lease in their own name. Sheltering Arms helps them pay the rent in the beginning, a little bit less each month so that they can be independent within a year. All are working and some are in school.
