Special Membership Meeting - The 2020 Political Landscape

Turning the White House and Statehouses Blue!

This month we focus on the national political landscape.

  1. What is the current "state-of-play"?
  2. How do we beat Trump in the Electoral College?
  3. How do we rebuild progressive majorities across the country?

If you are thinking about these questions, join us at this special membership meeting.

  • America Votes - the national political "lay-of-the-land", key 2020 mobilization strategies and opportunities, and battleground state-by-state drilldown
  • Arena & Future Now - efforts in four key states to win state legislative majorities
  • 2020 Vote Blue Buses - join DID & partner organizations as we go knock on doors for critical regional Congressional seats

America Votes works to coordinate voter mobilization independent of candidate campaigns and utilizes the best voter & polling data to deploy resources as strategically as possible.

Arena convenes, trains, and supports the next generation of candidates and campaign staff.

Future Now builds the power to improve Americans’ lives by winning state legislative majorities and working with them to achieve goals for the common good.

We will also have updates on local community and political issues.

Members will vote on a proposed change to our Judicial Delegate voting process for NYS Supreme Court candidate endorsements. Please read this proposal in advance.

DID is co-sponsoring a Gift Collection and Kit-Packing for Women In Need event in support of the Women's Prison Association. Please bring items for these women tonight to our membership meeting. We will bring them to the WPA event on January 29.

The WPA is the US's oldest women's advocacy group, providing alternatives to incarceration and helping at-risk women avoid arrest or jail by making positive changes in their lives.

See more about the WPA event and items to donate here -https://www.facebook.com/events/3422551997816401/

As always, our General Membership Meetings are open to all. Come join us and bring a friend!

Please note new location. Doors open at 6:15.
