With the June Primary behind us, we now turn our attention to the national stage, where we face an election truly consequential to our future way of life.
We will be joined by Greg Speed, President of America Votes. Greg will analyze the critical factors in the November election and discuss election strategy nationwide and here in New York, where we face vital congressional elections to take Democratic control of the House.
America Votes is the coordination hub of the progressive community, working with more than 400 state and national partner organizations to strengthen democracy, win elections, and protect every American’s right to vote.
We will also be joined by Bill Wolfsthal representing New York for Biden+Harris. Bill is coming to share ways that each of us can get engaged in the presidential election. New York for Biden+Harris is a volunteer-led, grassroots, civic engagement group dedicated to mobilizing volunteers, voters, and donors across New York State to support the Biden+Harris 2024 presidential campaign.
Caroline Crowell, soon to be NYS Democratic Party Distributed Director, will tell us about the NYS Coordinated Campaign Engagement Plan.
Members will vote on a resolution on the New York State Equal Rights Amendment. We will send out the resolution prior to the meeting. The ERA (S.108-A Kreuger/A.1283 Seawright) would prohibit discrimination by the government based on a person’s ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, and sex — including their sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy and pregnancy outcomes.
