Battery Park City condominium owners face being forced out of their homes, the single most important investment in their lives, due to ever escalating annual BPC Ground Rent and Payments in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT). As individual owners attempt to sell the homes on which they can no longer afford to pay the taxes, they find that the value of their homes is plummeting because of these soaring costs.

Despite numerous requests for the BPCA to begin good faith negotiations with homeowners, so far there have been no concrete steps in this direction. Time is running out. Without swift, decisive action, a wave of bankruptcies and foreclosures is coming to this neighborhood. The situation is becoming untenable.

We look forward to seeing you at our rally on April 23rd at 3pm to demand that the BPCA to begin earnest negotiations with homeowners in BPC.
